Dubai Mallathon 2026 returns with free indoor running across nine major malls
Free fitness initiative set to energise the city’s summer season
DUBAI – Dubai Mallathon 2026 is set to return this summer, bringing a unique twist to fitness in the city as air-conditioned shopping centres are transformed into indoor walking and running tracks.
The free community initiative will run over three months, offering residents and visitors a cooler way to stay active during the peak summer heat.
Organisers have confirmed the event will be part of the Dubai Summer Surprises 2026 line-up, adding to the city’s seasonal calendar of activities. With participation numbers growing each year, anticipation is already building ahead of its June launch.
Summer fitness
The 2026 edition of Dubai Mallathon will take place from June 15 to September 15, giving participants a full summer window to take part. Sessions will be held daily from 7am to 10am, allowing runners and walkers to complete their routes before peak mall hours begin. The initiative encourages all fitness levels, with distances of 2.5km, 5km and 10km available, meaning participants can progress at their own pace without pressure.
Mall routes
This year’s edition will span nine major retail destinations across Dubai, turning some of the city’s busiest shopping hubs into structured fitness routes. The participating locations include City Centre Deira, City Centre Mirdif, Dubai Festival City, Dubai Festival Plaza, Dubai Hills Mall, Dubai Mall, Dubai Marina Mall, Mall of the Emirates and Springs Souk. The format allows participants to experience familiar spaces in a completely different setting, with quieter early morning hours offering a rare view of typically busy retail centres.

Last year’s edition drew more than 40,000 participants and went on to set a Guinness World Record, reflecting the growing popularity of indoor community fitness events in the city. With no registration fee required, organisers are once again expecting strong turnout across all nine venues as the programme returns for another active summer season.
